The side edges of the nail where it meets the skin folds — keeping them straight is key to a clean, even enhancement.
Sidewalls are the lateral edges of the nail. Capturing the sidewalls cleanly with product (without flooding the skin) creates straight, even lines that make nails look professional and helps prevent lifting.
