Nail Prep

The cleaning, pushing back, buffing, and dehydrating steps done before product application to ensure long-lasting adhesion.

Nail prep is arguably the most important part of any service. Poor prep is the number-one cause of lifting and chipping.

Typical prep steps

  • Push back and remove dead cuticle
  • Gently buff the shine off the nail plate
  • Remove dust
  • Apply dehydrator and primer

    • Good prep creates a clean, dry, slightly textured surface that products can grip.
